Fantastic urban fantasy, had all the good things in a novel that will keep it on my favourite shelf. Great world building and fab writing, a heroine who ticks all the boxes for me. Less of a focus on the romance, which suits me fine. Not to say he didn't star in the final chapter, just got the more of a vibe that it is a chick adventure novel. I read another review that compared it to Kate Daniels novels, but I'm not sure I would. Similar in set up, kick ass chick hero fighting the big bad and having adventures along the way, but it was not entirely the same. I've also read several of her other books in the October Daye series, and this felt way less depressing. Liked it lots. Off to read the next one in the series.
